Local Students spend an afternoon with Hetech
At Hetech, we were delighted to welcome Park Ridge State High School electronics students to our facility last week to teach them about the local electronics manufacturing industry, and guide them through the opportunities available.
The students were introduced to our manufacturing processes, which are unparalleled in Australia and across the world, during a tour of our large assembly and production floor, onsite warehouse and storage, offices and meeting facilities.
Our highly skilled staff were on hand to answer questions about the manufacture of integrated electronic systems that support a range of industries, including mining, defence, transport, water management and utilities.
As part of the educational visit, the students were also shown how our automated conformal coating machine works by applying a protective polymer film or chemical coating that ‘conforms’ to the circuit board topology.
Its purpose is to protect electronic circuits from harsh environments that may contain moisture and or chemical contaminants.
It was an absolute pleasure to spend the afternoon with the students and show them around our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
It’s exciting to see more and more electronics students emerging in schools, all enthusiastic, and keen to learn about the exciting world of technology and the opportunities available to them.
However, it’s up to businesses, schools and governments to provide as much assistance and exposure as possible for students, to pursue their career in the industry. We urge anyone who is involved in the electronics or STEM industries to reach out to your local government or schools, even if it is to simply offer an afternoon to show some students around your workplace.
As your electronics, design and manufacturing partner, Hetech is committed to supporting young people and the opportunities available to them in STEM fields, which increase young people’s choices and chances through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
