Due to continuous growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Engineer to join our expanding Manufacturing Team.

About The Role

The purpose of the role will be to provide technical and engineering support to production and to set up and operate production equipment in accordance with operating procedures.

A Production Engineer is responsible for ensuring that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and deliver high-quality products. This role plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing production systems and processes.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing operations using lean manufacturing practices.
• Monitor and analyse production data to identify areas for improvement.
• Identify and troubleshoot production issues, providing solutions via root cause analysis.
• Manage and maintain equipment and machinery for optimal performance via calibration and preventative maintenance programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain production documentation and procedures.
• Train production staff to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Key requirements and skills:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential

• Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering Discipline (Electronics, Manufacturing) or similar.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred  

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.  
• Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and production processes, IPC standards.
• Working experience in ISO 9001 or AS 9100 manufacturing environment.
• Excellent computer skills and software knowledge: Microsoft Excel, Word, CAD, Solidworks, ERP.
• Proficient in Altium schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Ability to diagnose manufacturing problems and identify root causes.
• Experiences in new product introduction processes
