A
message from HETECH 's GM: Mark Steiner
|
| Welcome
Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our customers, for your ongoing support and valuable feedback that allows us to continually improve our products and services.
As another year comes to an end, HETECH is proud to say we have achieved many exciting goals. We have made substantial investments in new machinery and a factory upgrade. HETECH has responded to the world wide lead free debate by reviewing and upgrading designs, machinery and processes to accommodate lead free product manufacturing. In addition, our manufacturing environment and processes have now incorporated stringent measures to avoid accidental damage to sensitive electronics products.
Other exciting news is the launch of a new division of HETECH, TecHome. TecHome is the result of HETECH's strategy of addressing the market's growing demand for wireless home automation and remote control products. TecHome's products are currently distributed nationally by Nesco electrical distributors. The TecHome website is worth a visit to see what it is all about.
And finally, I would like to invite you to visit our new streamlined HETECH website and download our Fact Sheets
Please do not hesitate to contact me on (07) 3847 1400 or sales@hetech.com.au for any more information or advice.
Regards,
Mark Steiner

Lead Free Manufacturing & Environmental Awareness |
In 2006, the Europe Union banned lead in electronics manufacturing (RoHS compliance). In the meantime, China, Japan, USA, Canada, Korea, Taiwan and Australia have, or are in the process of, adopting RoHS compliance.
As the world becomes more environmentally savvy and the media reports daily on the climate change crisis, customers are demanding environmentally friendly products. There is no doubt that products containing heavy polluting agents such as lead cause irreparable damage to our fragile world and human health
In response, effective 1 January 2007, HETECH introduced the following procedures:
 |
All new boards are purchased lead free |
 |
New boards (lead free) are blue for better identification |
 |
Components available in lead free will be purchased |
 |
Components not yet available lead free will be hand soldered until they are available in lead free |
 |
Fully RoHS compliant (lead free) products will be accordingly labelled |
 |
HETECH's machinery stock is being fully upgraded to ensure lead free processing |
|
HETECH's commitment: |
| Although not yet required by law in Australia, HETECH has voluntarily invested significantly in lead free manufacturing. We are proud to be part of the growing number manufacturers worldwide who realise the long-term benefits in being environmentally proactive rather than wait for legislation to impose restrictions. |

New SMT Manufacturing Line Machinery |
HETECH has invested significantly in new machinery over the past 18 months. The acquisition of a SMT (Surface Mount) machine, a EcoSelect 250 selective soldering system (lead free) and a multi zone convection reflow oven has enabled us to build an efficient and reliable Samsung SMT manufacturing line. The result is a more efficient and reliable manufacturing process that produces high quality and cost effective circuit boards.
Volumes greater than 100 units per month make SMT manufacturing more cost effective than through-hole manufacturing. As a result, most of our products have been redesigned and updated. However, we have discovered some SMT products, for example capacitors, are not well suited for power applications and remain through-hole.
